Light up Lives Solar lamps
Even 133 years after Thomas Edison invented Light bulb(October 1879), Can you believe that there are people still living in darkness? They had to do that either because of poverty or because they have no electricity line where they are living.
There are many tribal families living in the deep forests in India who live in darkness, sometimes with Kerosene lamps. Many of them still use barter system and do not have cash. Even for Kerosene, they walk tens of miles to the Sunday market.
Svechha decided to break their nighttime darkness and entitle them to the most basic necessity of this century, a reliable light in the night.
Svechha already broke the darkness of three hundred families in Araku region, Adilabad dt, Mehaboobnagar dt , E.Godavari and W.Godavari districts.
“You gave us the eyes for the night time” – this is how one of the villagers thanked the sponsors.
How do we work?
We do field study, collect the requirements and try to raise funds. We organize ‘Trek2help’ programs for the donors to come along with us and participate in the implementation program as well have an adventure while trekking to the hamlets in the deep forests.
We organize trek2help programs for corporate companies to sponsor and participate in the project implementation, where they have fun as well as meet the recipient families and also act as team building programs.
