Svechha is a non-profit organization initiated to help other people and organizations in need to enable them to achieve financial freedom. Our aim is to increase social awareness and raise funds to support causes like children education, support for senior citizens, healthcare for everyone, village development and increase awareness on civic responsibilities.

Svechha has chosen 5 Focus Areas to work with, Education, Health Care, Old Age Care, Village Development and Social responsibility. Svechha also organizes fund-raising events like entertainment events, awareness events to raise funds to work in the 5 focus areas.

Lighting the Dark Lives-Araku

Even 129 years after Thomas Edison invented Light bulb(October 1879), Can you believe that there are people still living in darkness? They had to do that either because of poverty or because they have no electricity line where they are living.

These people are very close to our home in A.P, in the mountains on the way to Araku valley from Vishakhapatnam.

Svechha decided to break their nighttime darkness and entitle them to the most basic necessity of this century, a reliable light in the night.

Svechha Educates 32 Urban Slum ChildrenSvechha  is happy to announce that 32 children that are being sponsored by Svechha have been started attending the school from this week (week of June 15th, 2008). We meet them every Sunday to understand their progress. Half yearly progress will be communicated to each sponsor.  We are committed to continue support until their 10th class.  All the children are very happy and they gave the committment to study hard. Svechha thanks all the sponsors who have come forward so far to sponsor these children. We still need sponsors for 14 more children. Svechha organized medical and cancer screening camps in 4 villages in Prakasam Dt, A.P from Jan 7th - Jan 10th, 2008.
