You don’t need to understand all about Global warming to understand the importance of trees for Human beings and for the eco-balance. There is no doubt that we need oxygen to survive and trees provide us Oxygen.
You might have many times experienced the traffic pollution and the increase in temperatures in heavy traffic areas and cooler temperatures outside the city with more trees.
Let us do what we can to make things better for us. Svechha along with GHMC(Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) is organizing a “Tree Plantation Drive” in KPHB(Kukatpally Housing Board) Colony to convert 5 of their areas to “Oxygen Parks” on June 5th, World Environment Day.
It is time to stop complaining and do whatever we can do to help our city and ourselves.
Join us at 7a.m, at Malaysian Township Circle, KPHB colony and participate in this unique event.

Hi there,
I participated in the plantation drive but am not convinced with the way things moved and finally the a political twist to the program with politicians showcasing themselves for a cause where citizens came forward to their bit. Personally I could see myself, my friend and many other volunteers from google and other firms not liking this attitude and left the program half way. Also, the saplings were planted haywire without taking into account of the available open area and how the community around would be addressing to he loss of this space. Anyhow its you organisations call.
Wish you guys all the best..
Cheers,
Raj

Hi Arun, we planted in 2 other parks apart from this. They have special designated areas for planting. It was really great. Only at this park, few residents had concerns over the use of the space for trees. That’s the basic problem in our country. We think trees unnecessarily take up space. Anyway, since some space was left, they were fine. Until now, the plants are growing well in that park too. There will always be small glitches when we take up a good work. Keep the spirits up, look at the brighter side. Thanks for participating!
